I am glad that this is being studied. I believe this is SO true, and particularly in the area of breastfeeding. We women just are not around breastfeeding as we would be if we grew up in tightly knit communities. Then, when we do have our first babies, nursing them seems so unnatural and bizarre because we have not seen it done. La Leche League and other new moms groups are the solution to this problem. Women can learn best to become mothers by being with other mothers.
